EMDR Intensives
Sometimes traditional weekly therapy sessions don’t feel like enough. If you’ve been carrying heavy trauma, anxiety, or grief, waiting a whole week between sessions can feel frustrating—like you’re just beginning to make progress before time runs out.

That’s where an EMDR intensive can make a difference.

The process
The process of an intensive begins with a 10-minute phone call to make sure an intensive is a good fit for you. If so, I will schedule you for your intake appointment. I will determine if you are prepared to go straight into the intensive, or if more sessions are needed prior to doing the intensive. An EMDR intensive is a focused block of therapy—typically 4 hours with Katie—designed to give you the space and time to dive deeply into the healing process. Instead of spreading sessions out over weeks or months, we concentrate the work into a shorter period of time.
This format allows your nervous system to stay engaged in the process without constantly hitting “pause,” often leading to faster and more profound results.

Why Choose an EMDR Intensive?
Clients often choose intensives because they want:
-
Faster relief from symptoms of trauma, anxiety, or grief.
-
Deeper focus without the stop-and-start of weekly sessions.
-
Efficiency, especially for those with busy schedules or who travel for therapy.
-
Momentum, as the intensive format can help breakthroughs happen more quickly.
What to Expect
In an EMDR intensive, you can expect:
-
A personalized plan created specifically for your needs and goals.
-
Extended sessions of EMDR, balanced with breaks to ensure your nervous system stays regulated.
-
Tools and resources to help you integrate the work into your daily life after the intensive ends.
-
Compassionate support throughout the process—I won’t go through it alone.
Who Is It For?
EMDR intensives can be especially helpful if you:
-
Feel stuck in traditional therapy and want to move through barriers more quickly.
-
Have experienced trauma that continues to affect your daily life.
-
Struggle with anxiety, panic, or intrusive thoughts that feel overwhelming.
-
Want focused time to heal without dragging the process out over months.
The Goal of an Intensive
The goal of an EMDR intensive is the same as weekly therapy—relief, healing, and greater freedom—but the path looks different. With the intensive format, you may experience deeper progress in less time, giving you space to move forward with clarity and confidence.
